WHAT IS YOUMACON?
Youmacon is a celebration of Japanese animation, videogames, popular culture and costuming, and its influence on our own culture over the past few decades. Common themes throughout the event are Anime (Japanese animation), video games, Japanese-style artwork and comics, and the rising Internet culture influenced by all of the above. Youmacon brings a unique all-ages mix of interactive games, celebrity guest panels and live musical performances to downtown Detroit.
Now in its 19th year, highlights for Youmacon 2023 will include large video game and table-top gaming rooms, a Charity Masquerade Ball, national bands and DJs and a massive 150,

PREPARING TO ATTEND YOUMACON
BE PREPARED
Make sure you have your Government State issued ID. The name on the badge purchase must match the legal name on your ID at time of pick up. Names will not be printed on the badges so please be sure to us your current legal name when registering.
Here is a list of acceptable forms of ID for pickup:
- Driver License
- State issued Identification Card
- Military ID
- Passport
- U.S. Territories Driver’s License or Identification Card
- High School issued ID (For minors 13 – 17 who are attending the convention with their parent or legal guardian. Pickup only)
- College issued ID (For pickup only)
Unattended minors between the ages of 13 – 17 must bring with them a Parental Consent Form, which must be completed in full by their parent or legal guardian in order to attend Youmacon.

It is best to arrive early for will call pick up or purchasing your badge. The lines will be long, so please be prepare, bring a game, have snacks, stay hydrated. Thursday and Friday lines are normally long and waiting time can be close to 3+ hours. We are constantly working on new ways to ease long lines times. Please take this into consideration when planning your arrival time.
ATTAINING YOUR BADGE
All badge holders, vendor, artist, contractors, and crew are subject to rules, policies, and regulations at Youmacon or risk forfeiture of badge and removal from the convention at the sole discretion of convention and venue spaces.
Please sign your badge. Whether its your nickname, content creator name or prefer name, it will be easier to match a name to the person who lost their badges.

Do not share your badge with others.
Always have your ID/Passport with you at all times. Any age restricted ( 18+ or 21+)events will require your ID check before entering.

BADGE TYPES
WEEKEND BADGES
The Three Day/Weekend badge will gain you access to all general events for the entirety of this year’s convention. Three-day badges are available for purchase both online, and at-the-door.
SINGLE-DAY BADGES
Single-Day Badges (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) will get you into all general events for the day purchased. Saturday badges are available online. Friday and Sunday may only be purchased at-the-door.
CHIBI BADGES
Chibi Badges (For children under 12 only) will get your children into all general events for the entirety of this year’s convention.
First child 12 and under receives a complimentary badge with a paid adult. Additional Chibi badges are available for purchase both online, and at-the-door.
An adult may have up to 4 children with them, and all children 12 and under must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian at all times.
VIP BADGES
VIP Badge (Weekend) works the same as a Three-Day Badge with additional perks such as;

MAIL OR STANDARD PICKUP OPTIONS
Youmacon 3-day memberships are available with two types of pickup: Pickup or Mailed.
All badges (3-day, VIP, single day badges, and chibi badges), require the person whose legal name is on the membership to arrive at the convention, proceed to Registration, and pick up their badge for the event (for entry to all events, guest, marketplace, panels, gaming, concerts, etc.). You will need a government issued photo ID and your confirmation email/QR code to pick up. We will not allow others to pick up for you in your place.
VIP, 3-day, Saturday, and chibi badges will cost $10 with tracking to avoid going to the Registration window to pick up; they are mailed to your provided correct mailing address two weeks before the convention. Friday and Sunday single day membership badges are not mailed. Mailing options is available for USA residence only.

Youmacon does not offer refunds or allow transfer of pre-registration or at show registration once it is purchased. Any replacement badges will need to be purchased at full price.
